Amateur Hockey Leagues formed the basis of hockey as we know it today. Starting with the Amateur Hockey Association in 1893 we look at these leagues and their history over time. In addition we look at the development of the Senior Hockey Leagues throughout North America.
Federal Amateur Hockey League (1904-1906)
The Federal Amateur Hockey League was formed mainly under the leadership of the Montréal Wanderers, for the 1903-1904 season and operated in Canada with between four or five teams until 1906. In 1905 two of its teams, the Ottawa Silver Seven and Montreal Wanderers moved to the newly formed Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Asociation. The league ceased operations after the 1906 season.
